PD review..

We brought him back for a PD review.. He was given another nose suction. He is getting better as the lungs are clear.
PD gave us the green light and assurance that he would be in the pink of health this coming weekend for his 1st month celebration.

We were lucky to seek treatment early when he started showing signs of sneezing and coughing. Otherwise he may easily develop bronchitis.

Day 23..

Damien looking so listless due to the drowsy effect of the medicine. Is a chore feeding him medicine.. when I syringe feed him, medicine will flow out from corner of his mouth.
If I add it into his milk, there is a chance of him not finishing his milk.

Sick..

Dillion caught the cough and cold bug and pass it to Damien. Their PD warned to seperate the boys to prevent Damien from catching the bug when I brought Dillion to see her as it may lead to bronchitis if not treated early for infants(for Damien).

It was too late.. Damien starting showing signs of sneezing and phlegm in his throat. So we whisked him to the PD.

My heart sank when PD confirmed he caught the bug.. and my heart sank further when she said "He needs to go for nose suction".
At least he does not struggle and I know this is for his own good so that he would be able to drink his milk.

He was given anti biotics.. yeah so sad right.. at such tender age. But what the heck, just need to get him cured as I felt so helpless and wondering why when he was on 80% expressed breast milk yet he could succumbed to the virus so easily.. what happen to the anti bodies?

Day 21

Damien is using Kiddopotamus velcro Swaddle. I love the convenient of this swaddle as it helps to snuggle him tight and kept him warm and secured as if he is in my uterus. Its one of must buy item for baby stuffs!



I am so jealous of his double eye lids! None of us in this family have such beautiful eyes!

Flash Cards..

Flash Cards training starts young:


I started flashing picture cards at Dillion when he was about 4-5 months old. Its beneficial to him as it helps him to pick up and recognises words easily.

Day 15

Night Feeding..

Like all new borns, Damien still need to be fed at night. So I'm solely in charge of doing the graveyard shift infact should be whole day feeding since I'm a SAHM.

Boy, doing night feeding is so tiring now. Perhaps, age is catching up. I never felt so tired when I was doing it for Dillion.

Because Damien is a slow drinker, takes him ages to finish his bottle hence at times, I would fall asleep and accidentally drop his bottle whilst feeding him .

I been surviving on 4-5 hours of sleep daily and I hardly nap during the day because I don't have this habit..

Dillion Vs Damien- Part 1

When they are only 1 week old:

Day 7

Damien fare much better when comes to bath time. He hardly cry and seem to like water lots more compared to Dillion.

Bottle Feeding..

When comes to bottle feeding Damien.. is a nightmare! He has weak suckling power and takes his own sweet time to finish a bottle.

He loves to sleep and we need to always wake him up for milk and sometimes he could not even finish a bottle of 40ml of milk.

So different compared to Dillion. He is a fast milk drinker.. and he needed to be fed on 2hourly feed. Sometimes he would even cry for a milk top up.

Day 6- PD review..

Damien still having jaundice after a prick test. PD review was done by Dr Ang Ai Tin of Paediatric Centre, TMC.. the chio looking Auntie Doc.

Because of his low birth weight at only 2.5kg, we were advised to beef him up!

Instead of following his cue for milk.. we have to feed on schedule. That is to feed him every 3 hours regardless he cries for milk anot.. even when he is in lala land, we have to rouse him especially night feeds!!
We were initially very happy that Damien could sleep through 5 hours at night, giving us more hours of sleep.
